I was rather disappointed by this movie. It could`ve been a mesmerizing story with stunning sceneries, but at the end of the day I found it to be a rather dull drama, nothing more, despite of the good acting.
The movie tells a story of 3 friends who had the time of their lives in Malaysia. One of them was accused of possession of drugs and is sentenced to death by hanging. His only hope is if his friends come and take the blame with him and then each of them will only serve 3 years.
The video transfer if good. Nothing too glorious, but good. It`s a shame that the viewer is not given a chance to peek into the exotic life of Malaysia in more detail. No compression signs are apparent at all and the picture is clear on both 16:9 and 4:3 versions.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is average. Nothing more. The surrounds are hardly ever used. The jail scenes sound rather real, however.
Extras? What extras? Other than a dull filmographies section and a usual trailer, the disk is bare of any extras. Even the menus are static and dull.
Bottom line - too bad this movie had not lived up to its expectations.
