    Synopsis:
Johnny (Paddy Considine), his wife Sarah (Samantha Morton) and their two young daughters, Christy and Ariel (Sarah and Emma Bolger) arrive in Manhattan to make a new start in the land of dreams. Immigrants from Ireland, they have left behind everything they knew in their own country, including memories of a son whose tragic death still haunts them. Short on money, the family settle in to a New York tenement populated by junkies, drag queens and a colourful assortment of characters, where they attempt to turn their apartment into a true home. While Johnny and Sarah see America as rife with challenges and dangers, their daughters see it as a magical place where anything can happen...
