The 1st season of a cult tv series. 2 FBI agents, Fox "Spooky" Mulder and Dana Scully investigate various conspiracies from UFOs to a liver eating man.

Here`s the synopsis for each episode:

The Pilot - Mulder and Scully meet for the first time. Their 1st assigment is to go to some town called Oregon to investigate why several teens are abducted by aliens.

Deep Throat - Mulder meets this guy called Deep Throat who gives Mulder info on UFOs and other government conspiracies.

Squeeze - Eugene Tooms, an individual who has the abilty to squeeze in tight areas. He eats people`s livers and the odd thing is that he hibernates for 30 odd years.

Conduit- Another `abduction` episode. Mulder and Scully investigate an abduction of a teenage girl and during their investigation they learn that the girl`s mother was also abducted when she was young.

The Jersey Devil- Mulder and Scully travel of to New Jersey to investigate some legendary beast.

Shadows - Mulder and Scully investigate a woman who some to be protected by a ghost.

Ghost In The Machine - Mulder is contact by Deep Throat(again) and informs him that the Depatment of Defense is looking for a computer whiz.

Ice - Mulder and Scully head off to Alaska after all communicatons are cut off. Here, they find some usual worm.

Space - Mulder and Scully are told that sabotage attempts are being made against NASA`s space shuttle. An ex-astronaut is possessed by a ghost.

Fallen Angel - Mulder has less than 24 hrs to prove that a UFO has crashed.

Eve - Mulder and Scully investigate the deaths of 2 men, one in CA, the other in CT. The victim`s daughters appear to be twins or identical twins to be precise.

Fire - Mulder meet an old English friend to investigate a guy who can create fire, using his mind.

Beyond The Sea - Luther Boggs, who claims to be psychic, says he will help Mulder and Scully help solve a kidnapping crime if his death sentence is reduced to life. He can contact the spirit of Scully`s dead father.

GenderBender - Mulder and Scully investigate a close knit community called Kindred, who can have the ability to switch gender. Based on the Amish community from Witness.

Lazarus - Scully and Jack Willis are involved in bank shootout. Jack and this robber are shot and sent to hospital. Jack dies but the robber`s spirits seem to jump into Jack`s body.

Young At Heart - Mulder finds himself looking for John Barnett(he put this man in prison several years ago). Barnett, who supposedly died in prison, was part of a genetic experience to reverse the aging process ie he`s getting younger by the second.

E.B.E. - Mulder is yet again, contacted by Deep Throat. This time, Deep Throat sends Mulder on a wild UFO chase.

Miracle Man - A guy named Samuel is capable of healing people but lately they have been dying.

Shapes - Mulder and Scully go to Montana to investigate what appears to be a "Indian Manitou". A very confusing episode

Darkness Falls - Mulder and Scully go to a National Forest in Washington. They find tiny green phosphorous insects that are active in the dark and feed on human flesh.

Tooms - A follow up on Squeeze. Toom is released on parole and goes back to his old ways.

Born Again - Mulder and Scully investigate an 8 year old girl who maybe an incarnation of a serial killer.

Roland - Roland, a mentally handicapped seems to be manipulated by his dead brother who is frozen in liquid nitrogen.

The Erlenmeyer Flask - Mulder and Scully investigate the terminally ill people who are injected with alien DNA. Deep Throat is killed in this episode and delivers the famous quote "Trust no one"

Video- In 1.33:1 fullscreen. I`m not suprised that the picture quality is average.

Sound- No 5.1, Only 2.0. Dialogue is fairly clear throughout and there`s not much to compain.

Extras- Very litte. There`s a short "The Truth Behind Season One" featurette. Very little to learn. There are 12 short interviews with Chris Carter each talking about his fav episodes.

Next, there is "Behind the Truth" featurette. There are 2 deleted scenes from the pilot episode.

There is a sfx clip from Fallen Angel, a DVD-ROM feature and a handful of tv spots.

Overall- Diehard X-File fans will buy this boxset. It`s a shame that there are a lack of extras.
