    Synopsis:
    Hooray for Captain Spaulding! Animal Crackers is a classic of screen histor, and it`s as uproariously funny today as it was 50 years ago. This film introduced Groucho`s most famous character, Captain Spaulding, whose song became the theme of his "You Bet Your Life" TV program.

    Highlights include Groucho`s African lecture ("One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got into my pajamas, I don`t know.") and the card game which Harpo and chico play with the wealthy society woman, Mrs. Rittenhouse (Margaret Dumont).

    Animal Crackers is the 2nd Marx Brothers film. Also done first as a review on Broadway. The non plot about the exibit of the famous painting and the african explorer has filled quite a number of boring books, which take longer to read than watch the film. Again a wonderful restoration job from the strange people at IMAGE if your a fan you must get a copy. (Available as part of a 3 disc set - The Marx Brothers Collection - with Duck Soup and Horse Feathers as well as by itself)
