I`m ot one for the Friday 13th series, but oddly I enjoyed this one set in space!. The premise is a little whacky but what it lacks in plot, it gains in the way Jason finishes off his victims as the tagline reads Evil does get an upgrade.
The thumping DTS sound track is welcome and so are the solid extra material. The Commetary is entertaining and the jump to a death track also worth a look. The documentaries are also good, detailing the films production. Overall a enjoyable silly film which is made all the more better with a solid package.

We`ve long since figured out that the only thing that can permanently kill Jason is weak studio profits from the movie. So, what can we do with him that hasn`t been done before? How about we send him to the year 2455 and put him onboard a space ship?

Jason Voorhees returns with a new look, a new machete, and his same murderous attitude as he is awakened on a spaceship in the 25th century. Having Jason killing off teenagers in space was a good decision. This Friday the 13th pokes fun at its own genre conventions and is probably the best of all the numerous instalments.

It's all very ridiculous and over the top, but the movie is in on the joke. Okay, the acting, special effects and costumes are all bad, and some of the attempts at humour will make you groan, but the movie clips along at a brisk pace to clock in less than 90 minutes. If you`ve enjoyed any of the previous installments of the series, you`ll probably like this one. It is more of the same, but it does not take itself seriously and it pokes fun at itself.

If you`re after classical entertainment then…look elsewhere.
