Along the way their money is stolen by a handsome cowboy (Brad Pitt) and they begin holding-up convenience stores, feeling strangely liberated by their new-found assertiveness. Harvey Keitel stars as the detective who attempts to talk the heroines into giving themselves up.

I remember watching this movie in theaters some 10 years ago. Back then it was quite impressive, since the idea of 2 dominant women on the run was never before seen in a major movie.
10 years later, the movie is still very enjoyable. True, the atmosphere surrounding this movie is not as powerful as before, but still - it`s wonderfully made and brilliantly performed by the 2 leads.
The video transfer is a bit disappointing. While there are no compression signs to be seen, the picture is not too sharp and scratches and dust particles can be noticed throughout the entire movie. Some aliasing can be spotted as well in some of the car scenes.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is flat. The surrounds are hardly used, which is a shame, since there are plenty of scenes which could`ve benefited from the 5.1 mix.
The menus are animated with sound. The design of the special features section of the menus is a bit annoying since you can hardly tell which option is now selected.
The extras include 2 commentaries by the director and by the 2 leads and the writer, an extensive recently made one hour behind the scenes featurette, 9 deleted scenes (including an alternate ending, which is not as good as the original one), a picture gallery, a music video and a multiple angle scene.
Bottom line - a good movie packed with a wealth of extras. Recommended if you can excuse the average transfer and sound.
