Disc 2: Rm w/a Vu, Sense & Sensitivity, The Bachelor Party, I Will Remember You

The audio commentary on Rm w/a Vu comes from writer Jane Espenson.

Disc 3: Hero, Parting Gifts, Somnambulist

There are extras on disc 3 comprising the Season 1 featurette (11:24) with interviews with cast and crew, the Angel Season 1 VHS Trailer (0:49), a couple of Image Galleries (stills and set blueprints), and character and artist Biographies to click through.

Disc 4: Expecting, She, I’ve Got You Under My Skin, The Prodigal

Disc 5: The Ring, Eternity, Five By Five, Sanctuary

Five By Five, and Sanctuary both get the original scripts for you to click through.

Disc 6: War Zone, Blind Date, To Shanshu in LA

There are three featurettes on disc 6, Introducing Angel (3:40), I’m Cordelia (5:27), and the Demons (7:41), looking at two of the main characters and this seasons roster of villainy respectively.


Season 2

Disc 1: Judgement, Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been?, First Impressions, Untouched

There is an audio commentary on Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been? from writer Tim Minear.

Disc 2: Dear Boy, Guise Will Be Guise, Darla, The Shroud of Rahmon

Disc 3: The Trial, Reunion, Redefinition

There are two featurettes on this disc, Making Up the Monsters (6:41) is self explanatory, while Inside the Agency (15:28) looks at the sets used in season 2. There is also an Art Gallery featuring Stills and Blueprints.


Disc 4: Blood Money, Happy Anniversary, The Thin Dead Line. Reprise

Disc 5: Epiphany, Disharmony, Dead End, Belonging

Disharmony gets the original script to look at.

Disc 6: Over the Rainbow, Through the Looking Glass, There’s No Place Like Plrtz Grlb

There is an audio commentary for Over the Rainbow from director Fred Keller.

There are two featurettes on this disc, the Season 2 Overview (14:43) with interviews with cast and crew, and the Stunts featurette, which lasts 5:18.

Season 3

Disc 1: Heartthrob, That Vision-Thing, That Old Gang of Mine, Carpe Noctem

Disc 2: Fredless, Billy, Offspring, Quickening

There is an audio commentary on Billy from writers Tim Minear and Jeffrey Bell.

Disc 3: Lullaby, Dad, Birthday

There is an audio commentary on Lullaby from writer/director Tim Minear, and script editor Mere Smith.


There are featurettes on this disc, beginning with Darla: Deliver Us From Evil, which lasts 12:09. It’s a look at the character with input from Julie Benz, and the rest of the cast and crew.

There are 4:51 of Outtakes

There is a Deleted Scene from “Birthday” which lasts 4:02 with optional commentary from Tim Minear and Mere Smith.

Finally there are trailers for the Buffy TV series, the Buffy feature, and the first two Angel seasons.


Disc 4: Provider, Waiting in the Wings, Couplet, Loyalty

There is a deleted scene on Waiting in the Wings with optional audio commentary from Joss Whedon which lasts 2:15.

Joss Whedon also commentates on the full Waiting in the Wings episode.

Disc 5: Sleep Tight, Forgiving, Double or Nothing, The Price

Disc 6: A New World, Benediction, Tomorrow

Here you will find the Season 3 Overview, which lasts 32:24, looking back at the episodes with input from the cast and crew.

Page to Screen lasts 13:46, and takes us from script to post-production, looking at how episodes come to fruition.


A couple of interesting and surprisingly watchable additions are Amy Acker’s Screentest (2:33), and Vincent Kartheiser’s Screentest (1:46).

Season 4

I had this problem with a couple of seasons of Buffy as well, but Seasons 4 & 5 of Angel presents the main menus with episode titles in the corners of the screen. At least the Buffy collection has episode listings on the inner sleeves, you’ll have to guess which order the episodes are in with Angel Season 4. They’re listed horizontally if you’re wondering.

Disc 1: Deep Down, Ground State, The House Always Wins, Slouching Toward Bethlehem

There is an audio commentary on The House Always Wins from writer David Fury, and Andy Hallett (Lorne).

Disc 2: Supersymmetry, Spin the Bottle, Apocalypse Nowish, Habeas Corpses

There is an audio commentary on Spin the Bottle from Joss Whedon and Alexis Denisof (Wesley).

There is also an audio commentary on Apocalypse Nowish from director Vern Gillum, and writer Steven S. DeKnight.


The featurette here is Angel and the Apocalypse, discussing the Apocalypse Nowish episode, which lasts 6:51.

Disc 3: Long Day’s Journey, Awakening, Soulless

In terms of extras, Disc 3 is loaded with trailers for the Buffy and Angel franchises, 11 in total.

Each disc of the final season kicks off with that “You wouldn’t chuck wood if a woodchuck could” antipiracy trailer.

The Hey Kids! It’s Smile Time Featurette lasts 7:04 and is on the wrong disc if you want to avoid spoilers.

There is an audio commentary on Destiny from director Skip Schoolnik, writers David Fury and Steven S. DeKnight, and Juliet Landau (Drusilla).


Disc 3: Harm’s Way, Soul Purpose, Damage

There is an audio commentary on Soul Purpose from actor/director David Boreanaz, writer Brent Fletcher, and Christian Kane (Lindsey).
