    Synopsis:
Neil Jordan scripts and directs this adaptation of Graham Greene`s classic novel.

In 1946, novelist Maurice Bendix (Ralph Fiennes) encounters civil servant Henry Miles (Neil Jordan) on Clapham Common, and recalls how years earlier he had a passionate affair with Henry`s wife, Sarah (Julianne Moore), which ended suddenly and without explanation. Henry was unaware of the affair at the time, but believes that Sarah is now committing adultery. He asks Maurice to investigate, and the writer gradually becomes obsessed with Sarah once again, desperate to find an explanation for her behaviour and rekindle their relationship.

Julianne Moore is simply the most beautiful woman in the world ever!
So every movie she`s in is worth watching.

A powerful story of obsession and passion - this is no ordinary love story. It is a tangled up dream of moments between lovers, the sadness of a woman, the love of a husband, the obsession of a lover. Make no mistake this is no easy movie to watch. The most perfect and most haunting moment is when the lovers stay in their bed - even when the bombs are falling all around them (literally). It will stay with you mainly because you will feel the frustration and sadness of this passionate affair.
