Weird, weird WEIRD film. Not worth buying at all - it`s far too long and gets tedious to watch. Maybe rent this because the special effects are amazing. Great features, too bad about the film.

A recommended film for those who like a thoughtful, wise and moving experience. There is a lot of symbolism in the film and although sometimes too obvious. The special effects look great on DVD and really are a standout in this film. This film is also quite funny and a lot of the humour comes from the difference between the real and `fantasy world that is pleasantville`. Downers in the film are perhaps its length - it falls a bit once the visual delights of the film become second nature. The plot is fairly obvious but the charm of the cast makes up for it. Overall though its well worth seeing and I am glad I rented it. Its the sort of film that you will remember for certain sequences - particularily as the b&w world of pleasantville starts to get slowly colourised. Good film.

It`s not often I buy a DVD if I`ve already seen the film, Pleasantville is the exception. Every time I see this film I always laugh, it`s very entertaining time and again.
