After completing the stylish thriller `Point Blank`, acclaimed director John Boorman (Deliverance, Hope and Glory) teamed up again with the legenday Lee Marvin for this tense, powerful and compelling WWII drama; drawing two magnificent performances from Marvin and Japan`s most famous actor Toshiro Mifune (Shogun, The Seven Samurai).

It is 1944 and the war in the Pacific is at its height. On a small, deserted Pacific island a Japanese naval officer and U.S. naval pilot find themselves marooned. The two men are bitter wartime enemies but stranded and with no one else to help them, they have to decide whether to fight each other to the death, or work together for survival?
