    Your Opinions and Comments

Wow! I was very impressed with this DVD. The last time I saw Fist Of Fury was on 4:3 mono VHS, and what an improvement HKL have made to both picture and sound.

The picture is a lot cleaner than I expected, and is presented in it`s original 2.35:1 aspect ratio. Sound has been remixed into Dolby Digital 5.1 on both the English and Cantonese dubs. There is also yet another interesting commentary by Bey Logan (he really knows his stuff), but it is the film itself that makes this DVD worth buying.

This is, in my opinion, Bruce Lee`s best film. Add to that the fact that the previously cut nunchaku scenes have been completely reinstated, and you have the best version of this film that you`re ever going to get for your money.

There is an impressive amount of extras, too, including an animated biography, various trailers, a photo gallery, and the usual trailers for new HKL titles.

    Buy this DVD.

    Bruce Lee!

Ahem. Errrrr what? Oh yeah, thats it. I just got the chance to see this film when I was given a borrow of it last night. I am a pretty strong Bruce Lee fan so I was damn interested in seeing what this version was like. I had only ever seen this film on TV and that was quite a while ago. Aye.

Content:- This film kicks ass! It has plenty of action, although maybe not as thick and fast as Enter The Dragon, but there are still many big groovy fights. Bruce plays his part surprisingly well, reminding me that he can deliver a hugely energetic performance to match his athletic bits. Aye. The plot is not too bad and is generally not to confusing or silly. Not that it would matter anyway, the fights are good enough.

Video:- I have no idea what that other reviewer is talking about, this is a fantastic transfer, by far the best ever. There is very little grain or dirt, far less than you would expect for a film of this age. It also still has a great 70`s feel to the picture, it looks just right for the film. If you know what I mean.

Audio:- I only watched this on a mono TV, so I can`t comment on the DD5.1 soundtrack, but it all sounded pretty good as far as I could see. I watched this film with the original Cantonese soundtrack (i`m a purist ok?) and it was fine, all crisp and clear. Having the option of either English or Cantonese soundtracks is a plus too.

Features:- I have only seen some of these, I haven`t watched the commentry yet but I have seen a few of the other things. The 2 interviews with cast members are pretty good, with more depth than I expected, although they both seem to concentrate on saying how great Bruce Lee was. The photo gallery was also quite nice, the little explanations before each photo was a very good feature. A good all round package.

Overall:- HKL has made a brilliant job of bring this classic film out on DVD. You couldn`t really ask for much more, not without being a bit greedy. Aye. I demand that you buy this! NOW!
