Synopsis:
From the acclaimed studio, Production I.G. (Ghost In The Shell; Blood: The Last Vampire; Kill Bill) OTOGI ZOSHI, continues to push the boundaries between historical reality and fantasy, challenging the perceptions of what is past and what is present.

Having originally begun in Japan's ancient Heian Period, the narrative has now jumped forward 1000 years, the lead characters from that era having been reborn in modern-day Tokyo. Hikaru, who once posed as her warrior brother in order to seek a gem believed to hold the mysterious power of restoring order to the world, is now a 17-year-old high school student. In this new reality, Tsuna, too has changed. Once Hikaru's former companion and her brother's loyal retainer, he is now a freelance writer and a tenant residing in Hikaru's apartment complex.

Together, Hikaru and Tsuna have begun to search for clues relating to the disappearance of Hikaru's elder brother Raiko…

OTOGI ZOSHI - VOLUME 5: CROSSING BOUNDARIES picks up as Hikaru and Tsuna continue investigating the strange supernatural occurrences all around Tokyo, seemingly helped and hindered in equal measure by a mysterious man in a long black coat. There appears to be a new woman in Tsuna's life, but it's Ibaraki, and she has an agenda of her own. Then a series of flashbacks begin to haunt Hikaru. Are they memories of her previous life in the Heian Era? Hikaru's past and future are about to clash on the streets of modern day Tokyo!
