    Review of Money Talks

    5 / 10

    Introduction

Chris Tucker is a small time crook who is caught up in an international diamond smuggling ring and is way over his head…now he is wanted by the police, the ring, and a few guys who he owes money to…

The only person who can help him is a smarmy reporter, played by Charlie Sheen. Money Talks was directed by Rush Hour and Rush Hour 2 director Brett Ratner, teaming up with Chris Tucker before their smash hit franchise.

    Video

The picture is presented in anamorphic 2.35:1 widescreen and is very good. The skintones are accurate and the colours are vibrant. The picture has a high level of detail with no grain visible. Overall, a great transfer.

    Audio

Only a stereo track is provided here, which is a bit disappointing as the film was made on a fairly large budget. Nevertheless, the track is clear and free from hiss, and so is adequate.

    Features

Absolutely no extras are provided here – not even a scene selection sub-menu, although there are chapter stops encoded on the disc. Terrible.

    Conclusion

Money Talks is a funny and entertaining movie, although often relying on the heavy use of profanity for comedy. Any fan of Eddie Murphy’s early movies should check this out, as Chris Tucker reminds me a lot of him.

The disc has a good picture and decent sound, but is otherwise awful – no extras AT ALL, not even scene selection or a trailer. Shame on EIV, this is an incredibly poor effort.
