Review for WWE Hell in a Cell 2021

6 / 10

Hell in a Cell lost its special feeling a long time ago and this PPV, though not awful by any means, really had so few memorable moments. The feuds were fine built to this PPV, it is just a shame nothing really made me enjoy it.

Starting with Hell in a Cell for Smackdown Women's Championship
between Bianca Belair and Bayley had its moments, but just didn't feel like it got going.

Seth Rollins against Cesaro was a great, technical match and definitely one of the highlights of the PPV. The ending was a bit of a shame, but still great to see.

The match between Alexa Bliss and Shayna Baszler was odd to say the very least. The 'Psychic' powers of Alexa Bliss was a crazy moment, but just so bizarre I am not sure what I am supposed to think of it.

Kevin Owens against Sami Zayn really should have been in a Cell and despite the mad, conspiracy storyline the match itself was great and these two always work well together to make this a great match.

The Raw Women's Championship match between Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair was fine in general, but I feel that more should be done to make Ripley seem dominant. Instead, the cheap ending didn't have the feeling it should have.

Finally, we have the Hell in a Cell for WWE Championship between Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre was a great finisher for the night and both worked really well. I was never a huge fan of either, but over the last year I have really enjoyed the feud between the two and this was a great ending to it.

Also included is the Hell in a Cell from Smackdown between Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio for the Universal Championship. It was odd to have this on the TV show, rather than on the PPV, but it made sense to not swamp this event with Cell matches and at least give Lashley the chance to main event a PPV.

Hell in a Cell 2021 was a good, if fairly unmemorable show. The Cesaro/Rollins match was great, but I don't recall a single thing from it. Nothing is unwatchable, but nothing is really worth watching again.
