For the weekend we leave you with news of a Network Distributing title arriving on DVD this 7th October as part of their British Film Collection.

The Final Programme is a darkly humorous and trippy sci-fi thriller from director Robert Fuestof Dr Phibes horror films fame, based on Michael Moorcock’s acclaimed 1968 novel and starring Jon Finch.

With a runtime of 86 minutes, this is presented in its original 1.75:1 aspect ratio, with extras that include the Italian title sequence, image gallery, trailers and promotional material in PDF format.

The recommended retail price will be £9.99.

    Synopsis and trailer follow...

Set in a far-off future, with mankind in a state of decay, a group of scientists believe they have found the means to create an ideal, self-replicating human being.

Jerry Cornelius, Nobel Prize-winning physicist and playboy adventurer, is vital to the project’s success, his recently deceased father devised the formula of this final programme.

However, the formula is captured on a microfilm hidden in the vaults of the family’s mansion, and jealously guarded by Jerry’s drug-addicted, psychopathic brother, Frank.
