Synopsis:
Based on the story 'The Flight of Doves' by Ruskin Bond, Junoon is written and directed by Shyam Benegal. It is a Romeo-and-Juliet-style love story in which a Muslim rebel (Shashi Kapoor) develops a passionate, almost obsessive love for a beautiful English girl. This out-of-control emotion suffuses the whole story, from the opening scene of a fakir's wild dance to the savagery of the sepoys as they burst into a church and massacre the English congregation during the East Indian Company mutiny against British Colonial Oppression.
