The cartoon is a caricature of Jackie Bird, a news reader on BBC Scotland.  Who at the moment is a figure of ridicule / fun due to her  "Impartiality"  when delivering any news in the early evening slot.

Yep still amuses me

I can only offer my condolences if your "Local" news is as "Impartial/ Objective/ Unbiased"as Jackie Bird, well BBC Scotland and their news editors Si

One of the most exciting antidotes (not), that I can add is....

I once saw Jackie Bird eating fish and chips from an actors catering van in Sauchihall street, Glasgow while on holiday there. She was on an outside shoot and having a break at the time.

Also years earlier saw BIlly Connelly driving through Glasgow in his convertible. As usual he was on the lookout for his adoring fans, and I dissapointed him by looking the other way quick
