Anyone watched this then? 10 minutes in and quite enjoying it, good to see the Thunderbirds haven't been messed with too much, a couple of updates here and there but no major reimagining. And there are a couple of nods to Gerry Andersons other shows if you watch carefully.
SPOILER:
Stingray clearly shown, and I'm sure that the front of the sea lab structure is an Eagle cockpit. Might be others that i haven't noticed.

I'm a little undecided on this one (I watched it without the benefit or hinderance of Hoofy or Sir 9).

A bit too rushed on pacing, animation lip synching (or lack thereof).  It's not so much a reboot but a continuation with a revamp.

Certainly better that Frakes attempt & worth following over the next few weeks.

Thoughts......

Stingray clip was amusing.

Yes that was a Eagle inspired cockpit.

Mr Meddings - A nod to Derek Meddings.

Solar panel straight from to Lord Parkers Holiday

I was half expecting The Hoods satellite to resemble SID.

Liked the inversion of TB1 going up the ramp to launch position.

Loved the beauty shot of TB1 launching (in Apollo 11 style closeup).

The transport system for the crew to craft I enjoyed the new take, but found the Iron Man dressing sequence dull as heck.

The one thing I really hated but not as much as the Frakes inspired flying FAB1, (& its a loving touch) was the 54321 countdown as each craft took off, especially with multiple launches in quick succession it was worse than the IMDS.

There was a sly reference to Alan fixing the TV from the original series where he stops a aircraft crash by holding the severed ends of a power cable together later described "as easy as fixing a fuse".

Hmmm...in common with most CGI animation it felt more like a slightly frenetic video game. Despite the knowing winks to the original and some decent voices I gave up after 15 minutes. I'm sure kids will love it and I suppose that's its target. A bit disappointed but I think it's inevitable.

Watching it now with the boys after missing it yesterday. Fairly entertaining. Couple of questions;

Who the hell is Kayo?

Why has Brains' nationality changed?

Why is Penelope so awful in voice and character?

God I hate multicultural and 'modern' focus groups

Kayo = TinTin Probably a bit more PC'ness & to be fair makes her sound a lot  less of a dog or being stuck with a demeaning "nickname".

She recognised the Hood as her Uncle, which implies it's the same character & Kyrano (Dad) must have filled her in on the family history in the last few years a bit from updating from the vagueness of seeming familier in the classic series.

Felt it was running to fast with to many disasters going on in this first episode. I suppose it might slow down to one disaster story a week, but I think not, as that looks like the format.

Did not like the new Penelope (too young) or Parker, they did not look right and same goes for their voices. Same for Brains.

The only character that still looked like his puppet was Scott Tracy,

Agreed the 54321 countdown every 5 minutes was annoying.

Thunderbird S looks interesting, to find out what it does.

Will still tune in for next weeks adventures, as it is still watchable.

According to imdb, there's 26 episodes, so plenty of time to get into it...
