[VIDEO] Twin Peaks is coming back!

Gareth Williams (Elite) posted this on Monday, 6th October 2014, 18:02

It's coming back for a third season! :o

9 episodes to air in 2016, all directed by David Lynch and on Showtime.

This is the most surprising and amazing TV news in years!

Please don't be a hoax, please don't be a hoax! Please don't be someone hacked Showtime's account and uploaded a hoax!

I hope they bring back as much as the old cast as possible, even if they look really old now.

Radio interview last night with (I think) the writer.
'Can't reveal any plot, David Lynch would kill me'

They seem to think that they can get all (most) of the original cast and it will be set 25 years after the end of series 2 so no heavy demands on the make up dept.

Apparently there was a scene in the original in which Laura Palmer says to Kyle McLachlan's character 'I'll see you in 25 years' No idea if that's true or even relevant if it is.

I report all of that from listening to the interview as I've never seen the originals.
Did I miss a lot?

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

Only one of the most must-watch original series of all time, with an ending that is about as decipherable as the one to 2001. I think it only ran for two seasons?

now I may get lynched for this (sorry no pun was intended, but had to leave it ;) ), but I missed it first time round, and watched it for the 1st time a year or 2 ago.

Season 1 was good, but 2 wasn't very good. I'm not sure if it's just dated, or what was "cutting edge" then, has now been done numerous times, and better.

Apparently, Showtime have pulled the plug so it won't be back any time soon.

Now would be a good time for Netflix to swoop in.

Tweets tonight from David Lynch

Quote:
Dear Twitter Friends, Showtime did not pull the plug on Twin Peaks.
After 1 year and 4 months of negotiations, I left because not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done.
This weekend I started to call actors to let them know I would not be directing. Twin Peaks may still be very much alive at Showtime.

Never understood it, and made my head hurt after the first few episodes,  so gave it up.

Yet I stuck it out, for the five years of LOST, Weird!
