Daredevil and 3 others getting their own series on Netflix

Just announced for 2015

Quote:
Four Marvel characters are getting their own original Netflix series, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones and more...

2015 is already looking like quite the year for geek movies, and now, thanks to a new deal between Marvel and Netflix, streaming TV will be hot on its trail.

Four thirteen-episode original Netflix series, one each for Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones, will be arriving from 2015, culminating in a joint The Defenders miniseries.

President of Marvel Entertainment, Alan Fine, had this to say about the news: "This deal is unparalleled in its scope and size, and reinforces our commitment to deliver Marvel's brand, content and characters across all platforms of storytelling. Netflix offers an incredible platform for the kind of rich storytelling that is Marvel’s specialty. This serialized epic expands the narrative possibilities of on-demand television and gives fans the flexibility to immerse themselves how and when they want in what's sure to be a thrilling and engaging adventure."

Just to reiterate, the Marvel/Netflix deal means that well over fifty TV episodes confirmed before the word 'pilot' has even been uttered. The times, as the man said, are a'changing.

I'm really liking Netflix's model at the moment, they are really throwing it all in on original content.

Daredevil single shot fight scene (apparently!):

Quite realistic for a TV series, even more so for an action hero series.
Is anyone watching this? Is it any good?

Watched 1st episode and it set it up nicely, was disappointed the Kingpin wasn't in it though especially since the actor playing him is fantastic, looking forward to the rest of the series......

On a side note I am gutted they pulled the plug on the Punisher series that was muted as I thought his character is best suited to an ongoing series.

Stick with it, I wasn't that hooked on the first episode & even the second.  Then I found myself drawn in & I am now at Ep 10 (THO's somewhere about 7 or 8 due to her habit of falling asleep & then waking up saying what happened?!).

Kingpin so far has evoked the typical villain response initially & as I got further in I find him more fascinating & sympathetic a character than MM/DD.

Foggy (or Pigsy as was my first response) I didn't have time for initially but even the comic relief foil gets his moment to shine. (Shhhhhhhh spoilers).

My outlook on life is positive & carefree, I'm positive that I'm a pessimist & I don't care what what you think.

Never has so little had to be explained by me to so many so often.

Just watched episode 1 and really enjoyed it, yeah it ended on a montage but I liked the tone and fact the fighting wasn't overly silly. I recently read the first bunch of the original comics so liked what they took from that and didn't mind about what they reinvented.

Didn't realise the lead guy was British and in Boardwalk Empire until I googled, then it was like... oh... him! I wonder how much of his own stunt work he's doing, because it's quite impressive.

So is the area of town which is being heavily reconstructed related to the first Avenger's film? Which I've still not seen yet but mean to at some point.

Holey moley, now seen the first 6 episodes, this is brilliant! And didn't realise until I googled him that the guy playing Kingpin is the same guy that plays the evil alien in MiB.

Already had to google and find out if there would be a second season (there will), because this is currently the best series not on telly!

Finished the first season, that was brilliant, so many levels better than Gotham. Hope they do a second!

If you play close attention there's lots of little indicators that its post Avengers, especially with the framed newspaper front pages relating to the "Battle of New York" & I'm sure there was a section of dialogue relating to a man with a hammer.

More spoilers here.

2nd season filming now and I cannot tell you how excited I am that they have announced that the Punisher is the main villain :) and John Bernthal has been cast and looking at some of the pictures he certainly looks the part....seriously cannot wait as Frank Castle has always been a favourite of mine :)
