"A very drab start, with each actor looking absolutely bored to death, with a facial expression showing 'give me the money and lets get this finished'"I wouldn't agree - and can't imagine Olivia Coleman is capable of it.
Thought it was a decent start and am interested to see where it goes. Two fairly prominent storylines it's looking like.

Tennant was just mumbling, and was even mentioned in the daily rags about a lot of complaints about his mumbles.
Just hope it gets better.
2nd episode a bit better, but I just do not have the enthusiasm I had with the first series.
I can see this being a lot of boring lawyer/court stuff, unless it steps up.
SPOILER:
If he is found out to be really not guilty, then why say he was guilty in the first place?. Also, My main suspect has always been the minister, as he was dodgy as *****, and still is in the second series, which I thought at the time was put in as a red herring to make us think it was him, but it could still be him. We wait and see, my head hurts. Better get back to work

what a load of convoluted nonsense this is. A ridiculous rushed back story with a load of 'new' characters that have supposedly been around for a whole series.
Surely Olivia Colman's detective would have known a CPS lawyer lived in a house in Broadchurch - quote 'always loved this house, how long have you lived here'
RIP Julie & Maisie
I haven't seen and won't be watching this series because I actually wasn't as blown away with it as everyone else seemed to be. I strongly suspect they knocked out this series because of the overwhelming response to the first one. Did they ever really intend to do more than one?
Fourth week in, and its just not as gripping as the first series was.
The court room scenes do not help, as the lawyers are just like a bunch of schoolgirls with their attitudes, and chips on their shoulders. its all one big yawn.
Agree. Started off well enough but not a patch on the first series up to now...

Has lost two million viewers since the start of series 2 , according to TV viewing stastistics.
No wonder, as its one big yawn, compared to the last gripping series.
Those lawyers are doing my head in.
Well this 2nd series must have been real duff to most, considering it is now finished and no-one till now replied.
I though the introduction of two totally unrealistic lawyers was crazy. It was a farce watching it. Must have made real lawyers want to throw a brick at the TV.
Then the two main police characters just kept shouting at each other, and making a mess of things. Amazing they got there in the end.
The only good episode was the last one where some real acting began, but far (far) too late, It was nothing like the first gripping series.
I do not see a 3rd series forthcoming, after this one.
I thought the end was s*** - not a clue how it was 'received' by viewers and critics.
Having said all that, despite not being a patch on the first series it was still one of the best things on (UK) TV. Which says summat I think..
