AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Not for any other reason than now we have to wait ages for a new episode!

SPOILER:
Okay, that ending was evil. :) I really thought Walter was going to continue to become Scarface, not just get shown all that money by Skyler who decides she wants her family back, and shaking him into realising the reason he was doing this all in the first place.

But what a brilliant direction to go in. He gives up, when the police have no leads. And then Hank goes for a poo. The moment he went in there I was thinking, the poison in the plug socket, but then it turned out to be a book given to him by Gus` chemist guy brought in to be trained up to replace him!!!

Summer 2013!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHH! That`s even worse than the ending to season 3.

Having to wait so long for an extra 3 episodes. Mind you they`ll be worth it I suspect, if this season is anything to go by so far.

I was thinking then, that you meant there would only be 3 episodes next season, but realise you meant in comparison to a normal series.

As much as it`s annoying, I appreciate that there was a point where they weren`t going to get a full final season and the only way they could finance and get the scheduling together was for a 2 part season.

We assumed it would be the ricin in the plug aswell and was thinking that would come together for Hank to be looking in there.

Plus the final scene by the pool, the suspense was immense.

Really just thought anything could happen after previous years.  The main things that were obvious loose ends, is the the new business partner/distributer and also the fact that Gus`s backstory hasn`t been revealed yet and why the cartel wouldn`t touch him.

Just watched 7 & 8 - both superb.
SPOILER:
The prison scene while the music was playing and the pool/toilet scene (with Squeeze playing in the background) standing out in particular.  There was another few scenes where items from one scene were then a part of the next that were sooo well done too.
Sad to see Mike go  - touching end for him too - `dying in peace`. :(
There were usually 13 eps to a season though, so `just` another 3 isn`t enough!! :(  And we`ve got another 10 months or so to wait?
What happened to this being the last season - is that still the case?

Yes, but we wait 10 months for another 8 episodes, so this season is actually 16 episodes long rather than the usual 13, hence another 3!

It might not be a full year hiatus, thankfully. Filming on the final 8 resumes in November (four months earlier than the first half), so they could be completed and ready to air by April. Coincidentally, with The Killing being cancelled, there is now a slot next to Mad Men in April.

Oh, wow, really? Did the ratings tank during season 2?

I guess I can safely watch the dutch version now without worrying about plot spoilers.

They were quite a bit lower than season 1. That said, the story was concluded by the end of season 2 so continuing it would not have made sense anyway. It was a perfect ending and I`m glad it was cancelled for that reason.

As for the Danish version, only the first season was used as inspiration for the US version and much of the plot/characters were changed, including the identity of the killer. Season 2 has no relation to the US version. Season 3 begins September 23rd in Denmark, November 17th on BBC Four :)

Stretching the `definition` of a mid-season break that isn`t it?  Not complaining but should just have done with it and say it`s S6.  Hope there will be a real S6... :)

They went the Sopranos route or having it split.

Next season is pretty definitely the end (Bryan Cranston etc haven`t ruled out it carrying on, but I don`t think Walt is going to make it so that`s a bit of misdirection).

This season was split purely from a scheduling and cost point of view as was combined project from Sony and AMC I believe, it was looking ropey to get it sorted At all at one point.
