Page 1 of Hell on Wheels

Just watched the 1st 2 episodes and while there are a few stereotypical characters and moments the setup looks good. Basically telling the story of the rise of the railroad in the US after the war ended in 1865, starring Colm Meaney from STNG as the owner of the railroad, lots of dodgyness, injuns, gunslingers......not quite Deadwood but it certainly has potential. Check it out
Hmm looks interesting, and I do very much miss Deadwood even if this isn`t quite that. Cheers will give it a go!

starts 21:00 Sunday 20th May on TCM (repeated Thursday 21:00)
incidentally, Deadwood is on, looks like from the beginning straight after.

Thoroughly recommend it, for Deadwood fans and non-fans alike. It`s not as good as Deadwood, but still good. Rarely takes the fluffy option out of any plot cul-de-sac.

Finished watching it tonight, brilliant stuff, season 2 starts in a couple of weeks in USA, no idea if/when TCM will show it here.
New season started last night in the U.S. Good timing as I only watched season 1 this weekend.
Oh wow, did it? Thanks for letting us know! I presumed it would be October.

unless it is a leaked release, but I don`t think so, sure I saw somewhere a mention that it started last night and my RSS feed did all the work so waiting for me when I get home from work. :-)
This is filmed in & around Alberta area, possibly Kananaskis County about 25 mins away from us. The Calgary Sun (Their Sunshine girl (page 3 equivalent) I kid you not was 43) yesterday had a advert looking for aboriginals\\first nationals with long hair as extras.
Quite a bit is filmed in High River down the road from us like Heartland (horse based\\family orientated programming) Superman & Smallville, Unforgiven, Brokeback Mountain.
My outlook on life is positive & carefree, I`m positive that I`m a pessimist & I don`t care what what you think.
Never has so little had to be explained by me to so many so often.
