Ok.
Had you heard of him before you where rumoured to be buying him?

Not saying how good/bad he will be just a bit dubious about all the reaction.

I had (he scored for Brazil at the weekend) - but I'm not sure how relevant it is?  The point is the scouts, who you would like to think (but have had my doubts a few times..) know far more than any of us, will know far more.
How much do any of us really know about many of the players that come into the league from afar?

Because we've just bought our second most expensive player ever and who will regularly play alongside fellow Brazilian Coutinho next season is good enough reason for the reaction for me.  That we finally got a top player that other top sides were more hotly tipped to land than us is another.

A bit of info about him here.  Nice stats.

Congrats and all. If you've 'done an Arsene' then good luck to you but who was he being linked with and who was doing the linking. The name never appeared on any of the Arsenal feeds I check out and I don't recall seeing him mentioned anywhere else.
You're obviously better informed than a lot of LFC fans who just seemed to hear 'Brazilian' and 'Thirty something million' which were the Pavlovian triggers for unconfined joy.

He was heavily linked to both utd and city. Not Arsenal I don't think.
As for being better linked.... I've heard we've had our offer correct Clyne accepted. ..
Let's see.. :)

just read about Clyne , not happy about that, although a lot of assumed he'd go to Man U :(

Will he get regular first team football at Liverpool, and get to push up like he did at Saints?

Would be shame if he had to sacrifice less first team football, and stopped featuring in England squad for more money like Lallana :(

£12.5M, last I had heard Liverpool offered 10 which was way too low, I guess if the player makes it clear he wants to go there's not much you can go, we bought a replacement earlier in the week.

Yeah, another tipped to go elsewhere.  From what I've heard it's still not too far off £10m (£10.5) with the rest as add ons..
Yes, I think he will get regular football at Liverpool.
None of the signings remotely point to signing Benteke as it would be even further away from the tactics and formation that we already had - yet it's rearing its head again tonight.  As I said previously, good player in a certain side - just hope it's not at Liverpool...

Looking like the new assistant manager will be Sean O'Driscoll.
Very difficult to get excited over someone with zero Premiership or European experience.
That he also comes from England U19 setup doesn't help at all.

So now Sterling has asked not to be included in the pre season tour according to the BBC.
Fair enough the guy doesn't want to sign a new contract that's his choice but to ask to be excluded from pre season just incase Man City come back with an offer is a joke

I'd love to know who the sources are but whoever they are they're not doing Sterling any favours by being public about every move he makes.
At the end of the day he's still under contract for the 2 years and If Man City don't come back in with a bid he could find life very difficult with the LFC fans for the duration of his life at Anfield.
