Summer 2015 Transfers

Snaps (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 28th May 2015, 08:39

I thought I'd distract myself from stressing out over the final and start the ins and outs thread. Arsene might not be thinking about it (as if) but I am.

For us I think a Keeper though I'm by no means certain which of Ospina or Szchesney might go. Everyone seems to think Wojciech's off but I'm not so sure.
Will we sign Cech?

Defensive midfielder (where have I heard that before) Coquelin has been a revelation but he needs someone to spell him or better to push him for first spot.

Striker. Most seem to think that's a priority but assuming everyone's fit, which seems to be happening more often lately, I don't think it's above the other requirements. That's not to say if Messi fancied a couple of seasons in the rain and snow I'd refuse.

That's without the probable exits that will need replacement.

Anyone care to chip in their twopen'th on AFC or their own team?
LFC will there even be the Klopp Klopp of a new manager after Brendans end of season review with John Henry.

Cech would be nice, but I really don't think we need one, Ospina is more than good enough, our form since January more than shows that. If we got Cech tho that would be nice!

Definitely an understudy for if he gets injured, because Flamini is too slow now, but that's the only reason.

I think that's what we need most of all. Giroud is good in some types of games, a waste of a place in others, has good runs where he nets almost anything, and then others where he doesn't. Walcott showed coming back he has great potential, but I'd still rather see him out on the right. Welbeck has potential, but you don't win the league on potential.

With our midfield, can you imagine what a world class striker would do with the chances he'd be given? Can you imagine all those games against big clubs still ending in a draw?

Against most teams Arsenal create a lot of chances, against ones who park the bus they can sometimes only create just a few. We need someone that you know will put away half of his chances to win those.

Saints didn't renew Boruc's contract, he's staying at Bournemouth where he was on loan most of last season, which was a pain when Forster got injured. Davis is good, but showing his age, so I'd have thought we need another goalie as Forster is out for a few more months, and Gazzan****, well, he means well I guess :( You could tell he hadn't started in the first time for a long time the other week, he looked scared witless, and his kicking is worse than my daughters' :(

Last I heard the Clyne thing was still under negotiation, wouldn't like to see him go, but money talks :(

Think we may lose Schneiderlin, but we thought that this time last year ;)

As for signings, we'll probably look to Celtic, and random players from the Dutch league ;)

β€œβ€œI have admired Ospina but he will not get shots that other keepers can because of his size – that is a problem.
β€œHe is under 6ft and these days, with the way the ball moves and the size of players, a goalkeeper needs to really be 6ft 3ins at least.

He might be right about his height, but I still maintain our problem in 2015 has been goals scored rather than conceded.

As far as we didn't get any wallopings like the previous season I'd agree with you but it wouldn't take many saves to turn those draws into wins.

Six behind Chelski on GD who won it with a worse GD than Citeh.
So let's be greedy and have a Keeper and a striker.

So Theo says he's staying but negotiations will take a long time.

Szchesney says he's staying.
When introduced to the crowd prior to the parade asks
'Has anyone got a lighter?'
I hope he's right, I love the guy and think there's a lot more to come from him.

...and Arsene says he's not spending big but if you read the words not the headline he just seems to be ruling out the likes of a 100 million Bale type purchase. Just probably being Arsene.

Arsene: '50 million for a striker. Do you call that a big price? Seemed reasonable to me.'

How's this for paper talk ?.
According to The Metro & The Telegraph Liverpool are being linked with the return of Arbeloa !!!

A few years ago this would be great news but now ............ isn't he in his mid thirties.
