What has happened to Liverpool DKUK and SJ

The loss of Suarez was a huge one for Liverpool but I honestly thought Raheem and Daniel would have made up a good portion of that loss. I know that Daniel is injured , how seriously I have no idea, but there seems to be far more to it than that . Skrtel, never been a  fan, has actually been pretty good from my MOTD viewing :) so it would be very unfair to even try to blame him for the loss of so many goals. Gerrard, again never been a fan but appreciate how much he means to Liverpool, carries that team and without him they would be lost. They seem to be a team of individuals and not a complete unit, by that I mean there appears to be no connection between the midfield and the forward/forwards. SJ and DKUK, is that down to Brendan (A potential great manager) and his inability to change the teams set up when one player is taken out of the team (Suarez or Daniel). I ask this as it is actually quite sad to see a side/ team of Liverpool`s  great standing almost disintegrate in the space of six months .

"What has happened to Liverpool ?"
Many answers to that one Choagy.

With Suarez being sold Rodgers should of dipped into the transfer market for the best replacement he could get before the ink was dry.
Sadly Sanchez preferred Arsenal and Falcao & Cavani I think were paper talk, Not forgetting the Loïc Rémy saga (all agreed but failed a medical  or not).

The summer signings made were decent squad players who could in time become great players however we lacked the signing of a couple of big name players .......................................... Balotelli was a gamble signing which so far has done little to make an impact but that might not be all his fault
I'll come back to that.

Brendan Rodgers last season on a few occasions gave the impression that he never had a plan B,Unfortunately he hasn't learned from that, Sturridge Injured & Suarez gone BR should be looking at changing the formation to suit the best 11 he has and not trying to get the below par selections to play the same style of play as last season.

The Steven Gerrard situation:
No Liverpool fan really wants to imagine club without SG sadly though he no longer has the legs to play right up the pitch where he made his name and he's struggled to adapt to being played in front of the defence.
The club should sign him to a one year contract however he should be used as a sub in the attacking midfielder role for the last 20/30 mins of matches.

Finally being involved in the champions league has really shown why we were so fresh for every game last season.

Anyway I've got that off my chest now I'm ready to watch the Bournemouth match tonight.

@ Mbilko

While I agree to a certain extent I think that is a wee bit of a simplistic view of the situation they find themselves in. Suarez is a loss that is clear to see however Raheem and Daniel are , were appeared to me anywhooo , capable of making up for his loss. That will take a bit more time but in the present climate at Liverpool and other teams time is a concept few supporters allow where their club is concerned. The two are imho players who given time could grace most of the top teams in Europe and be an asset to any team in that category, so again time will pay dividends.
Steven Gerrard is the heart and soul of the team and appears to be struggling due to the weight he has to carry. Carrying an underperforming and missing his great foil (SP) Suarez. When the two weaknesses ( easiest word I can think of ) then any team would appear to be in free-fall . The transfer window in January takes on extra importance now and for the teams future and their manager funds need to be made available and , more importantly, they need to be used effectively.
Anywhooo, tea time so tatty bye for now

I'll add later folks...  agree to a large extent with dk2000..
Mbilko massively underestimates the loss of Studge.
As did Rodgers....

Genuine question, is Sturridge really that good or just that important to Liverpool?  The two aren't necessarily the same thing and this is coming from ignorance on my part as I'm only interested in Everton these days so don't really keep up with other teams at all...

Replacing Suarez was impossible.  There simply isn't anyone else like him.  Just how hard 'the committee' tried though, who knows?...  The movement and work rate by him (and Sturridge in fairness) gave Liverpool so much space to play last season.  We conceded lots of goals - but scored a ridiculous amount.  For large parts of the last two seasons he was almost unplayable.  This season though, apart from Sterling, there's just no pace and movement in the side - so the opposition can always get close and press us and time and time again force a mistake - it was the opposite last season..  So this season we're not scoring but we are still conceding ridiculous goals.  The amount of mistakes Lovren makes is shocking - and in fairness he was a player I was happy we signed.  The pairing of him and Skrtel is a comedy of errors and they never communicate.  Lovren's clearances, whether headed or kicked, invariable go to the opposition just outside the box - for another chance.
Rodgers doesn't seem to have a clue of his favoured team.  If a player plays well it counts for little for the next team selection - and if he plays poorly, the same.  Dropping Mignolet, playing 3 at centre half (inc Johnson!) and NO strikers at United last week was stupid.  Mignolet could have been dropped a month or so ago - but wasn't and was actually in a bit of form.  It was a system we've never played before so why do it in that game?  It was a 3 7 0 formation, occasionally becoming a 3 6 1 - with Sterling's very poor finishing really not helping.  Many of the new players (esp Markovic and Can) really need a run in the side but just aren't getting one.  We've played lots of games recently without even a striker on the bench.  There are many strange squads being selected recently..
Ré the Gerrard thing, I also agree.  I've said for over a year that he shouldn't play 90 mins every game - but generally he does.  Another huge problem this season has been him as a defensive midfielder with no pace.  Sides put two players there and take him apart.  Time and time again he played 90 mins every game this season because he was Steven Gerrard and was undroppable and un 'substitutable'.  I'd much rather see Gerrard playing - knowing he was only on for the hour and could put all his effort and energy into those 60 mins - in a more advanced and dangerous position..
This season actually has little to do with the new signings (unlike Spurs last season) because few of them actually play - it really is the loss of Suarez and the injury of Sturridge that has hit us so hard - which is amazing really.  Not buying a top, top quality replacement will prove very costly I feel.  You don't sell your best player for £75m and replace him with a £16m(?) gamble - especially when the other striker (two top scorers of the league last year) is so injury prone and cross your fingers.  Yet it appears that's what we did.
What Liverpool almost did last season was miraculous and unprecedented and was always unlikely to happen again this season.  By how far we appear to be short is a surprise though.
