Raheem Sterling, a bit knackered

Just when I think the modern mollycoddled, wrapped up in cotton wool, overpaid, unfit, smoking, drinking, partying underachieving football players cant get any worse a 19 year old lad asks to sit out playing for his country because he is tired.....absolutely stunned.

He had a note from his mother, Mrs Rodgers.

Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

Yet another reason why I can't standard Hodgson, the f***in' clueless, classless w***er.
Sterling has played more minutes this season than, I think, every player bar one who was involved in the Estonia game (and considerably more than some).  And in those minutes he covers more ground than most..  So what if he is 'young' - he can still feel tired.  He's certainly looked mentally tired the last few games for Liverpool.  'The Hodge' gave an interview in a paper yesterday that what he said in a private chat with Sterling was private and 'Why would he reveal what is said in a private talk?'.  Then he hangs the lad out to dry by later saying what he did.  And this is all despite the fact that a Liverpool player played instead of him - and then Sterling came on for yet another Liverpool player.  So, regarding the 'It's a Liverpool thing'.., wtf?
IF more players, especially younger ones, admitted such things maybe they wouldn't suffer from burnout at such young ages.
Hodgson and his buffoons have already cost Liverpool dearly this season with their treatment of Sturridge.  Liverpool treat every single player differently regarding training and especially recovery after matches.  Sturridge is sent away on international duty with such a plan - and that includes that he does not do 'intense' training for 48 hours after a match.  He can train, no problem but it's been found that sucjh players get injured far less if they do not do such intense training within 48 hours.  It's a real science now and England have proven once again that they're in the dark ages regarding so much more than the man coaching them...England have come out and said they can't treat everyone differently.  Well, for one, why not?  And two, Liverpool aren't asking for that - just that each player and their body is respected.  He is Liverpool's asset and player and WE have missed him for 6 games now.  The reality is England don't really care because they don't really suffer - the club side do.  Getting injured in a game is one thing - completely and openly disregarding instructions from the medical team who work with these players day in day out is negligent and to be honest I just with they'd tell him to f*** off.
EDIT: Still staggered a manager has come out with what he has.  More sensible thoughts in this BBC article instead.

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..
