England World Cup thread...

Thought there was already one of these lol
As bad as Hodgson is (staggeringly negative things this week about the superb and young Barkley) I hope he puts faith in the youth and really unleashes them and doesn't keep reminding them that every mistake can be costly. Can never imaging Rodgers saying anything like what he's been coming out with lately.
Mind you, as I saw this week.... Olly Murs > Danny Wellbeck..
Has to be Sterling as I've said all year.

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..

Aye, I'd rather he did that than played it safe. We aren't going to do well, so we may as well not do well with a bunch of youngsters who will play their heart out.

5Live is on pretty much constantly while I'm working so I've heard an awful lot of guff talked about the World Cup over the last week or two.
It's noticeable that there's been endless debate over Sterling, Welbeck, Barclay etc but two points occur to me.
1. I've hardly heard the back four mentioned at all.
2. I can't remember anyone, caller or pundit, asking if those exciting young forwards and midfielders can defend because if they can't defend as a team they may as well pack now.

Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

I do hope there are no "England expects" comments or promos in the run up to the game tonight. Because that would be a barefaced lie!

A fitting end to England's World Cup, great to see them finishing how they started!

Lampard and Wilshere made an effort at least.

@SJ
I quite like and rate Roy Hodgson. The sad fact is that he has inherited a team that needed completely rebuilt. Much like Moyes taking over from Fergie. Fergies team needed gutting and , sadly, so does the England team. Lampard/Gerrard/Ferdinand/Cole/Terry  have been ever present in the last few season but now they are at the end of their glittering careers. In reality, well in my opinion anywhooo , theses five players were the backbone and stars of England for a good few years and will take some replacing. So effectively half the starting line up are for the off and Roy Hodgson has the massive job of replacing these extremely talented players.
Yup, as a jock I know phuq all about international class , but replacing players who have amassed about 300 to 400 caps between them will not be an easy or quick task.

Anywhoo , hard lines in Brazil. Howecer you can always support "OOR ANDY" at Wimbledon

It's okay, the FA is in safe hands. You can tell this because in-touch chairman Greg Dyke says, "It's a shame [Prince] Harry didn't come last week, he probably would have helped"
