I agree with his interview with the BBC after the Hull game, we have the skill in defence, they just need to stop doing stupid things. I thought when Steve Bould took over from Pat Rice, he'd sort that out.

Do you think we'd have let those two in if we had the first choice back four on the field Gibbs,Kos, BFG and Debuchy back fit?
I'm not so sure we would and I think it's the lack of confidence in the back four that holds the midfield and forwards back a bit.

Anderlecht should be fun with our third choice keeper.

EDIT: Ospina out for 3 months
We'd better have a look under the stairs and blow the dust of that old pair of boots.

Yes, I think we probably would have. :/

Happy birthday 2 you Arsene.

Had to listen to it on 5Live and not exactly gripping stuff.
Just seen the 2 mins highlights on the club site and Gibbs goal is something any striker would be proud of.
Now it's really important to get out of the group stages so when we get knocked out we don't have to drop into the Europa league.
Then we can concentrate on the important stuff like finishing fourth and making Kronkes investment worth even more.

Just saw the game, frustrating evening of losing the ball with bad passes that are either behind players or way too short. Then they score, then Arsenal don't up their game, then they nearly score again, then our third choice goalie spills it...

...then somehow the gunners put a move together and Gibbs showed (as he had been all night) why he should be first choice left back for England. Only him and Monreal celebrated, the Ox was shouting to get back to the halfway line as they could win this. But really, watching it, I didn't think we'd win it.

Then Gibbs picks out Alexis, who couldn't make the shot work but the moment it fell to the feet of another Arsenal player, and it was Podolski, mere yards from the goal, it didn't matter that there was a player and the goalie in the way, he turns and thwacks it into the net.

Exciting end to a dreadful game.

If you haven't yet check out the latest Tuesday Club podcast.
It's a first with a guest, Amy Lawrence, and they're going over the Invincibles season and Amy's book.

Easy win, no mistakes (well from Arsenal anyway, poor Brown and Mannone), and they spent time probing the defense rather than constantly trying to run through it. Some very dodgy yellow cards there, especially to Welbeck for diving.

Hopefully Gibbs isn't injured again. Nice to see Chambers not diving in and thinking he has no choice. Flamini and Arteta really solid together.

Sunderland were really poor, and not just because of the howlers. Still, Alexis, he just keeps running around till the very end, every game. <3

I'll take the two goal win and so nice of Sunderland to gift wrap them as a late b'day present for Arsene.
Nice to see Man City whooped by a team including two loanees (one from us) who we would have no use for whatever being a DM and a full back.
