We seemed a little fortunate against Southampton however a win is a win.
The media are reporting that LFC have agreed a £16m fee for Balotelli, Hopefully he's matured since leaving Man City.

Crazy buy. Yes, he will score you goals, but he's not the full shilling & he will cause embarrassment and ridicule to your club. I hope I'm proved wrong but with him I doubt it

This mornings paper talk is very intriguing, It looks like Ballotelli is as good as done and dusted however according to the mirror  Samuel Eto'o has had a medical and will sign a one year contract.

Thought u agreed terms with sunderland for a striker too :)
Reminds me of my 1st Football Manager season, buy as many good players as possible and try to fit them in, knowing you will sell half or three quarters at the end of the season

MCFC 3-1 LFC
What can I say ?. The first 20-30 minutes we were looking good on & off the ball, up & down the pitch then ..................... a defensive error and City take the lead.
As for the 2nd and 3rd goals again defensively we could of done a lot better.
A few positives can be taken from that performance however our defending will need to be looked at before the Spurs game on Sunday.

Yeah, a few mistakes in defence cost us dearly.  City had few chances but took them all.  Thought Markovic looked superb when he came on.
As for Balotelli, I think it could be an amazing signing.  For that money, to sign someone with that much experience is astonishing.  Not much more than Shane Long......
Time will tell of course but if anyone can coach him, I'm sure Brendan can.  Supposedly loads of things written into the contract too - we'll see how it all turns out eh..
In fairness to Ayre too, he's done some great business lately and we've paid millions less than was being quoted for most players.

Ste

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..

No brainer 24 years old and 16 million.
Even if it goes mammaries upwards you'll still get your money back and think of the off pitch entertainment value.

I'm not mad keen on Balotelli, but did find these remarks on the BBC unacceptable -
"3:02 Tottenham v Liverpool (13:30 BST)
Mad Mario is all smiles as he limbers up in the north London sunshine - wonder how long that will last...

13:00 Tottenham v Liverpool (13:30 BST)
Mario Balotelli is going through his warm-up at White Hart Lane, he's managed to get his bib on so that's a start..."

Liverpool 1-0 Aston Villa
With Sturridge injured & Sterling on the bench for the best part of an hour we seemed to lack in the final third, Not taking anything away from Villa's defence, It seems like we are still waiting for some of the new signings to gel.
Early days yet though.
