August 31st eh?
Di another Day and the day before my b'day.
They'd best not screw it up otherwise I'll be up for a part in the remake of Grumpy Old Men.

I'm beginning to think that we'll still have to install the tyre on a rope and lay in a supply of Bananas for the away dressing room though.

Coquelin goes out on a years loan to Freiburg but they give his number to Sanogo.
Sounds a bit more permanent to me.

Nobody signed yet, apart from Sanogo on a free.
South East Asia tour going well though. 7.0 v Indonisian Dream (nightmare) team and 7.1 v Vietnam national side.
Some from the youngsters and five goals for the handsome French bloke. Who needs a new striker anyway.

Full match replays or highlights available for free on Arsenal Player.

This shows a slightly more human side and a sense of humour for Suarez though I'd still prefer Higuain to the bitey racist.

Everytime I read about Wenger's interest I can't think of a player I want less in the squad, except maybe Adebayor, Barton or Terry. If the rumours are true and Arsenal do up their bid to £40m (no way is he worth that!) I can't see him getting a warm reception from fans unless he scores every single game for the first few months.

Wish they'd hurry up and sign somebody, heck even Rooney is looking more promising at this stage.

We have a month to go in the transfer window and at the moment, at least publicly, the only interest we are showing is in you know who.
I'm not going to get truly depressed until I know who's arrived before the deadline but....
The squad seems extremely short ATM and I do not want to see another trolley dash in the last 48 hours.

Regardless of who and how many come in, after Ivan's trumpeting of how rich we were, what is the minimum that would get most fans back on Wengers side and happy if he extends his contract?

I still count myself a Wenger supporter albeit a frustrated and confused one but another fourth is not going to do it. For me FA cup and a higher finish is a minimum. The league cup would be nice but not enough.

I think for me a big signing and actually challenging for the league again, is what I want most. I don't doubt Wenger, but he can't work miracles with an incomplete squad, and whilst midfield looks great, we still lack a clinical striker, and need another centre back.

Trophies are nice and all, but a lucky FA/League cup run isn't really going to be enough if we come 3rd. Though a Champions League trophy wouldn't be all bad. :)

I think Giroud will do better this year (if he plays consistently).

Even last year with settling and all that he got 11 goals in Premier League and because of starts being subbed etc, he only effectively played just under 26 games (dividing his total mins played 2331 by 90).

So that`s actually not far off 1 in 2, considering aswell it`s usually harder to score in sub appearances/shorter matches.

I`d fancy him to be more like 20 if he played every game as your main striker if no one else came in.
