O 2 friggin much

Snaps (Elite) posted this on Tuesday, 10th May 2016, 08:57

I'm about to get a new mobile having come to the end of my O2 contract and I'm changing networks. Signal and price being the reasons, and in that order.
Two online chats lasting a combined two hours to process a termination request and a please can I have a PAC code.
We''ll text it to you soon. Never arrived.

Second chat:

James (yeh right ) was so bl**dy useless it was unbelievable.

'I haven't got my PAC code yet'

All through his flow chart again. Then 'I'll txt it to you.'

A whole 'lousy signal, reason for leaving' exchange later I ask if he can email it.
Long pause, make cup of tea, swear a lot.

'Sorry for your wait, yes I can do that can I have your email address.'
Send it, despite they've already got it on record.
'I'm sorry that's incorrect'

No it's not you already email me on it please check you've entered it correctly.

Further exchanges as it didn't arrive he resends it several times and eventually it arrives.

None of the texts they allegedly sent with the code ever arrived but I know they accessed the right mobile number as the daft sod reset my online password during this whole charade.

Please tell me EE will be better.
I know their signal will as I'm regularly sat next to my lad (EE) while he's got full signal and I've got nothing (O2)

Let's hope they didn't keep the T mobile phone staff then.

Fell out with them big style a few years back as they lied through their teeth and were totally incompetent.
Given that I also had a massive row with Vodafone's billing dept as they kept charging me for a terminated contract I may be reduced to smoke signals and carrier pigeons soon.

I'll go with the good signal (EE) and hope nowt goes wrong.

Likely to be a Samsung S6 BTW can't justify another tenner a month for the S7 just to be able to have a memory card which I probably won't need anyway.

it's just annoying trying to get help, with orange you could email, and use online chat, which worked, with EE you have to phone. even if you go to a store, a member of staff will just let you use their phone to phone them, saving you the cost of a call but that's it :(

I guess though customer services are a problem with a lot of companies, you know what they say, pay peanuts...

i wasted an hour with Vodafone at the weekend, for the last week they ahve been working on the mastto bring 4g in the area, which meant no signal for 6 days, when they turned it back on, guess what a single bar intermittently now signal... and before they upgraded 4 bars all the time...

Guess after 16 years they will be losing a customer in June when my contract is up!

Now, when you say Orange and you mean EE, you now mean BT :)

I've been on EE/Orange for 15 years. Only had cause to call CS a couple of times in all those years. Both times appalling too. I just don't think you can win with any Mobile Phone CS these days. All as bad as each other. (maybe not giffgaff though?)

I do recommend the S6 though. Fantastic bit of kit, if theres the option of having the edge version then get that. The guy I sit next to at work has that model and I'm still green with envy.

my S4 imploded and Vodafone wouldnt replace/repair, so am back using my trusty S2, love the functionality of Samsung products, and as i am no iBore i wont follow the flock and change to Apple products, we have BT package at home for interweb/tv/landline so hoping for a decent deal from them!
