For a while I didn't see the point in a tablet, then after a while I started to think it would be very useful for browsing PDFs, circuit schematics, etc. With that as a main use, I waited for a retina iPad and got the iPad 3.

Pretty soon after getting it, I realised that using other peoples tablets is like using other peoples keyboards, sitting in other peoples living rooms, or playing with other peoples phones. You *might* like them but mostly it's an environment so personalised its meaningless out of the context of your life.

Mine has never replaced my laptop (or remotely my desktop) for anything other than short periods. But there are things it does way better than any other form of computer.

A load of unique games (and zen pinball!), reading books and manuals, browsing the net sitting on the sofa, looking at google maps, etc.

I think these days you can pick up a 7" so cheaply to try it out, but personally I wouldn't like to have anything less than a 10" if you are spending decent money on one.

just bought one of these on a whim whilst in sainsburys.
looks like fantastic value so far.. you can even go to a normal desktop
like a regular win 8.1 laptop.

decent resolution screen too :)
