Afternoon folks
BT McAfee subscription ran out and need advice on the best free suite. I used AVG a few years ago and am curious if other members rate this or would advise another free suite.
Thanks in advance folks

Switched to this on recommendations after XP and Security Essentials were ditched by Microsoft.
No complaints. Seems to work well and doesn't intrude on my ancient PC's resources too much.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary
You can turn off the nag screens and noises you hate too.

lol, was just about to say Avast, but I get annoyed by the annoying nag screens, about various pieces of software being out of date, and how something or other can be bought to speed up my PC. saying that, I guess they can't be that annoying or I would have worked out how to turn them off ;)
One great thing about Avast is the way software it doesn't recognise, it launches in a sandbox to see if it does anything dodgy, before launching it normally.

Be careful when installing Avast now. As with many other versions of 'free' software, it tries its best to install other crap and change your settings now. Do a manual install and be careful to uncheck all the crapware installations...
