Samsung Laptops

Hi

Anyone had much experience of Samsung laptops? My Toshiba Satellite L10 got dropped and I have been offered a Samsung R50 as a replacement. It looks pretty good so I have accepted it. It`s widescreen with 1gb memory and a 1.73 Intel M chip.

Cheers

Nick

Cant help with the Samsung I`m afraid but I`d be interested to know what it`s like. I have an IBM T41 but the product line has been sold to Lenovo so I`ll prolly be looking for a new manufacturer when I come to upgrade it.

Cheers

That model of Samsung is pretty decent. Keyboard flex is virtually non-existent and is comfortable to use. The controller is smooth and matches the aspect ratio of the screen. Internally, it`s just like many other laptops.

Sounds good, thanks for that, Mike.

I will let you know how I get on.

Been running the Sammy laptop for about a week and I am, so far, impressed. It comes bundled with Cyberlink Power DVD, Nero and a really helpful drivers CD so you can stick your own copy of XP on (like I have) and not have to worry about finding all the drivers for the laptop.

The screen seems a lot clearer and sharper than the Toshiba and the keyboard seems full size and is good to use. It`s got a really clever memory card reader with one slot that reads multiple types of memory card; stereo speakers on top of the laptop at the front so they don`t get muffled; a widescreen touch pad and plenty of USB ports; it even has a TV out and digital 5.1 output.

I just need to look into making it multi region and using my DVD writer.

Won`t `anydvd` do that?

No idea, never really looked into it. I suppose I`ll just do a few Googles!
