Sygate personal firewall help

Lizard (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 21st March 2004, 20:53

Recently installed this and im a little confused as to what applications i should block or allow. Applications i recognise such as messenger and internet explorer i allow but there are a few which i dont know what to do with so have just blocked for the time being.

Below are a few examples:

Generic host process for win32 services
LSA shell (export version)
Application layer gateway service
NDIS user mode I/O driver
NT kernal and system
LEXPSS.EXE

Has anybody got any ideas about what they do and what i should do with them?

cheers

try googling the terms and see what you come up with. It will at least tell you what they are for and whether you want them accessing the net or not.
