Home Brew again folks

Just got myself a 19 Litre Cornelius keg with regulators and 2kg CO2 so getting ready to put my Caxton Pilsner in it. Been using King Keg top tap kegs (Round , strong barrels) for a while and tho` they are good because of the air space above the beer they take a lot of pressurising so opted for the "Corny" as I like a good head on my beers.
BTW as I posted "In another place" m`lud  if anyone is interested in starting homebrew and needs any tips or help just pop the question here or in a P.M.

So are you doing this to save money, or just love a self brew?

I have known mates try it and end up with exploding kegs

I prefer just to go down the pub and just pay to get some real ale pulled.

Bandi , I used to make home brew in the very early 80`s but as I mentioned it tasted like nail varnish remover as quite honestly the kits were scheitte . I started again about three years ago and the only time I had a problem it was down to my actions. Namely I had a thermostatic heater in a fermentation barrel, it slipped under the surface so I stuck my hand in and repositioned it. Ended up with a "Duff"
At present I have spent the grand total of £700 +/- 30 and quaffed about 1600 pints. So about 45p a pint and all as good and in many instances (Wherry in particular and Tom Caxton Lager) better than the draught beers in Sportsters / Wetherspoons etc. I have never had a keg go bang or bottles crack , even tho` I tend to carbonate the beer quite a lot, possibly more luck than judgement  . I still go to the pub with my mates after the fitba and usually get Peroni out of habit as it is usually a good pint and again quite refreshing but actually enjoy my own beers better. I usually hand out bottles to mates and ask them to be as brutally honest as they can when they rate the beers. All of them have praised it to the highest, even tho` I have tol or asked them to point out any problems as I may not be as objective as them.
Give it a go, takes up a couple of hours to brew then an hour or so to bottle after ten to twelve days. After that leave it for as long as you can, twelve weeks seems to be the ideal time, not being particularly patient mine is usually arsed by then  so I need to work on that .

That's an impossible task for an Australian mate, we were born hot and thirsty
