Black Friday 2015 coming soon

admars (Elite) posted this on Saturday, 21st November 2015, 07:26

time to moan about

a) not getting something you didn't really want/need but it had a few quid off
b) not being lucky enough to get something you did want/need ;)

Amazon may reduced the chances of point b from happening (but I doubt it)....

Amazon’s Ingenious Scheme to Undermine Black Friday

DEPENDING UPON YOUR outlook, Black Friday is either a time-honored US shopping holiday or the miserable nadir of American consumer culture.

Plus, Amazon is giving mobile shopping a huge boost. The company says it will offer a slew of app-only deals and two-hour delivery on certain items through the holiday. Customers can mark the deals they’re most excited about using a feature called “Watch a Deal,” which pushes a notification to their smartphones once the offer is live.

don't know if that's US only.

interesting that the article mentions sales using mobile devices go up in this quarter. I wonder how much of that is that not all ppl in offices can have amazon on their screen all day and hit refresh, but they can sneak off for a fag/go tot he loo to do some shopping ;)

Feel free to to post real deals in this thread now :)

I'm spamming F5 on Amazon's deal page in the hope that they'll have some sub-£100 Corsair K70 keyboards.

They've had Strafes, Blackwidows and now Logitech G910s, but no K70s :(

Sadly, I can't partake in pretty much anything this year (not that I'd wish to sink to such levels). Apart from the lack of PC-ness, the powers that be have decided to block the following sites over this weekend:

www.tesco.com
www.uaeexchange.com
www.amazon.co.uk
www.amazon.com
www.tesco.co.uk
www.game.co.uk
www.game.com
www.argos.co.uk
www.argos.com
www.debenhams.com
www.debenhams.co.uk
www.asda.com

www.sainsburys.co.uk
www.sainsburys.com
www.johnlewis.com
www.johnlewis.co.uk
www.houseoffraser.com

However, both Scan and Novatech aren't on the list, so I'll be as right as rain!

a few ppl here have been excited by ssd deals at amazon and novatech but so far nothing to report.

I could do with some new bedding, the girls will need proper matresses soon for the bunk beds we were given for them so my bargain hunting isn't v exciting :(

EE have got what I'm assuming is a v basic Android phone (Alcatel Pixi 3)"free" if you top up £20. The missus' phone is pre android so that's tempting.

also, our hand held vacuum cleaner is playing up so i'm tempted by the £99 dyson one I saw at hukd but that's about it!

I bought a bottle of Glenmorangie whisky in Co -Op today £23, I think that was run up to Christmas alcohol promo all supermarkets are doing rather than Black Friday/Black weekend whatever though ;)

I was doing the normal grocery shopping in Tesco yesterday, as you go in the store there was a couple of pallets with I think Digihome LCD Tvs "1/2  price", not sure what size, while going round the fruit and veg section I noticed the pallet of 32" Blaunpunkt dwindle in stock, they were £100, whiel doing my shopping could see them teetering on various trollies while ppl did their regular shop.
