Two Leccy questions

Snaps (Elite) posted this on Wednesday, 29th July 2015, 14:02

First any recommendations for best quality AA rechargeables for my Metz Flash which is having the cobwebs blown off of it. The ones I have are now too old and untrustworthy (Used to be Ansmann way back).

...and second LED replacements for GU10 bulbs.
I bought some way back which were dim and took a week to get to full brightness so put me off them for years. For a kitchen so warm white I guess.
Any preferences for those and are they now at the stage where your not racing the light across the room and winning.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

I used these in my kitchen.  Not had any problems with them, some of the reviews nearly put me off but I took a chance. The front acts as a diffuser so you get an even light source rather than the previous ones I had which were too directional.

Thanks.
No delays with them coming on now?

Should never have been a delay with an LED bulb, the technology is on/off, no warm up time. Are you sure the bulbs you had before weren't gas based like halogens?

Hybrio or Eneloop, and you'll be thrilled that they don't lose their charge sitting unused in the flash for ages and turn out flat when you dig it out once a week.

Are you getting back into the snapping? :)

Re led lights. It's worth buying cool white rather than warm white, really notice the difference. I ordered the following link leds which are very bright.

I have 12 of those fitted in two light fittings in my kitchen. I also ordered more for landing lights, bathroom & wc. They were fitted April last year & I hadn't had to replace any of them.

Not on a pro level just got some family stuff that I'll probably be volunteered for so I need to remind myself which end of the camera to look through.Quote:

"Hybrio or Eneloop"

Did a quick search before and saw Eneloop come up. Never heard of them before.

Thanks for the suggestion but SWMBO prefers the warm ones so I'll probably go with them.

I prefer the warm white ones too. Though the ones I got were still not as nice as the traditional bulbs they replaced, but they cost way less to run so...

Why does anyone buy over the counter anymore?
Just ordered Eneloop batteries from Amazon £12.99 even including delivery by Saturday £16.98.
Maplin £24.99
