I wouldn't count myself as left wing, or any other wing for that matter, but I'd say a lot America's right wing has been nuts for years.
However it may have the the same effect as whacking a hornets nest with a large stick.

Somehow I don't think it'll be like the UK where even old fart tory MPs (like my local one :() realise it's a battle lost despite openly saying they'd repeal it if they had the chance.

It'll probably spring more legal challenges and dirty tactics from the Republicans.
