Page 1 of What you don't see on Grand Designs

Have watched Grand designs for years, but what you don't see much is the disruption to neighbours.

We have had a new guy moved into our village, and over six months he has had builders totally gut the house he bought, new roof, new interior walls, new everything. He is not living there, but we are to close for comfort.

Result has been at least five workmen vans blocking up the roadside daily six days a week, mess everywhere on the road. Delivery trucks, skip removals, etc.

The road is full of rubbish, oil on road, mud and dirty everywhere. No-one cleans it up.

I and my neighbours have had to clean up the road, I have had to buy oil remover and get out there with a hard brush and hose. (Engine oil and hydraulic oil). 

We are trying not to fall out with this guy, but he will not take one word of advice to keep the area tidy.  Luckly he is nearly finished now, and I bet he puts it back on the market, to try and get a profit.

I actually work on large building sites and as foreman I am responsible to ensure public access areas to the site is safe and clean. I just hate it when this guy is not interested, as he is never there.

Anyway, rant over, and I will appreciate now what neighbours go through with long winded grand designs.
