Page 1 of Why are public toilets dissapearing?

A sign of despair when councils are doing this to save money....

In many towns and villages the public toilet is either sold off, shut, closed down, or raised to the ground, or if still there, its a fifty fifty chance its now payable, and you do not have the change when your desperate.

So whats going on, have we as a nation managed as one, to hold it in?
Do we just cross our legs, or like me go behind a bush, or a hidden corner of archetecture. Its rather unhygenic but nature calls.

I have even seen real desperation in some towns with no public toilets now, where the Information centres have 'FREE TOILET INSIDE' signs up, because there is nowhere left in the town to go.

Its definitely a bad sign that austerity is still gripping the nation, and our public toilets have gone down the plug hole.

Yes, only difference was that they are raised to the surface.

a certain amount of vandalism, I guess means upkeep, ppl who don't leave toilets in the state they'd liek to find them etc, means they need to be cleaned, and maintained more often that should be necessary so they are closed to cut costs :(

You just have to casually use the one in a pub, BK, Starbucks etc.
