German Plane down in the Alps

Over 140 feared dead, as a 25 year old Airbus has crashed into the Alps earlier today.

No warning from pilots.

Yep, unfortunately they are all dead.

Black box recovered already, to find out what happened.

Oh well that changes everything.
I get thoroughly hacked off with the obsession over the nationality of the deceased in disasters like this.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

Aye, it's like the Tunisian museum attack.  No one was interested when they thought only Tunisians were killed.

Going by photos of the voice black box which looks totally mangled, it was some hit into the mountain. They do think voice recording will still be recoverable.

And they are still looking for the instrument black box.

Looks like the co-pilot commited suicide and took everyone with him.
They will now be looking at what was troubling him. A bit late!

The voice recorded tells of the pilot trying to regain entry to the cockpit through the secure anti-terrorist door. No chance.

Its a sad world when someone decides to take a load of lives with him.

The leaks in this incident are pathetic... but the new revelation...

Co-pilot treated for suicidal tendencies.

If this turns out to be the case. Lufthansa ought to be bankrupted out of existence with compensation awards.

There's obviously a case and the whole thing needs a proper inquiry but...and it's a big but.
I'm entirely unhappy with the press led witch hunt that's going on where mental illness/depression = madness. It doesn't, in much the same way that Cancer doesn't equal fatal.
It's not that cut and dried. There's as many types of the former as there are of the later.
In the long run, if this results in a much better understanding of mental illness and a more open attitude to it from both employers and the public in general then great.
Unfortunately at the moment I'm guessing a lot more people will be unlikely to seek help than was the case prior to this tradgedy.

I don't think that will happen. :/

To many vocal people (and newspapers pandering to them) are going to take the view that this is proof that anyone remotely suffering from depression shouldn't be let near anything that could be used to harm others.
