The BBC are reporting that Ched Evans has signed for Oldham

If you believe in rehabilitation, I don't see the problem with him playing in the UK. He obviously can't play overseas because of the restrictions placed on him after his conviction...

I'm not sure where I stand on this, part of me thinks, he's served his time, so he should be able to carry on working, but then there's the whole "public eye" role model aspect of being a footballer.
On the radio they were talking about the fact he's shown no remorse, and that if he did now, it would be obvious he was doing it just to get work as a footballer, but he's not apologised as, as he sees events, he did nothing wrong. I guess if you believe you have wrongly been accused of a crime, and incorrectly found guilty you wouldn't.
it's not like a drink driving charge which it's clear what happened, you just have 3 people's versions of events, and if in your eyes some-one was capable of agreeing to do something.
Maybe his girlfriend would know if he's been rehabilitated? if he bumped into a drunk girl, would he invite her back to his hotel room?

A jury found him guilty, a jury listened to all the evidence. He feels he did nothing wrong.
Put it this way- you have a young son who supports your local team. Ched Evans is signed by your local team. The signing is a great success, he scores so many goals the team get into the play offs.
Do you want your son to admire and hero worship this man?
I rest my case m'lord.

There have been many flawed heroes over the centuries.
I'm guessing you don't believe in rehabilitation at all then.

You could argue that he's not been rehabilitated because he still says he is innocent and shows no remorse.

It does seem to be a key factor of rehabilitation, admitting you did wrong, otherwise when faced with the same situation again you'd see no reason not to do it again. :/

The problem is that he believes that he is innocent and is trying to clear his name.
I have no problem with somebody wrongly convicted fighting to clear their name however as it stands he WAS found guilty by a jury and WAS imprisoned and WAS put on the Violent and Sex Offender Register, Which would make life extremely difficult for any normal person let alone somebody in the public eye.
I think if he really believes he's innocent then he should've stayed away from the game until his appeal has been sorted.
