Oh dear. :( Raises over £500k on kickstarter, then appears as a free-to-play game.

And that after slagging off Dungeon Keeper for similar mechanics:

"I felt myself turning round saying, 'What? This is ridiculous. I just want to make a dungeon. I don't want to schedule it on my alarm clock for six days to come back for a block to be chipped,'" he told the BBC.
If you can't beat them... join them? :(

RE: Peter Molyneux's GODUS game
Molyneux has been in the gaming news quite a bit recently, answering for his past mistakes. Nothing comes close to the sheer rectal devastation that he receives in this just published RPS interview, though.

Lol apparently he gave an interview to The Guardian just before this where he says the same things (not read it yet so just going on what others have said).

Peter Molyneux has admitted regret and culpability; he was clearly in distress throughout the interview – an interview he told us would will be his last.
Last but one so it turns out. :)

Okay having now full read the RPS link, he says a lot more there. Interesting read, he is obviously a passionate guy who has unrealistic timescales.
Godus kind of reminds me of the Pandora handheld saga, with a significant difference that he hasn't ran out of money and then ran away.

Ars argues that on Kickstarter, everyone is Peter Molyneux...

Quote:
Overall, one analysis last year found only 37 percent of Kickstarter gaming projects had fully delivered on their promises to backers at least a year after their initial funding. Another 8 percent rated as "partial delivery," while only five percent had been officially canceled or were on hiatus. Much of the remainder had simply gone dark, taking the money and running, as it were.

Legendary game developer - and game development tease - Peter Molyneux has discussed his next project, and talked up its gameplay as featuring a mechanic that's never been seen before.
He's already done the NFT thing so God knows what kind of bollocks he's dreamt up this time.
RE: [VIDEO] Peter Molyneux's GODUS game
At least he hasn't said what it is this time and then not been able to deliver.
