Even if you do win out with a big YES vote, though the polls do not show this at present.

You realise this referendum was instigated by the SNP party, and they might not retain power come the next Scottish elections, and you might just find you are going to get decades of being run again by the Scottish Labour party.

Will that squash your dreams of a decent future in Scotland, I wonder?

The thing is what the scottish people (well independence supporters) want is to be run by scotland for scotland, then its upto us to decide who governs us whether its labour, snp, tories.....it isnt the main point, the main point is WE decide who governs us and possibly more so that WE decide who does not govern us .....Westminster for instance :)

The fix for that is to do what the Loony Party proposed years ago, (RIP Screaming Lord Sutch!) and have parliament on wheels so it can move all around the country.

Even if it's NO Westminster has been dangling more carrots in front of them as to what they can do independently.
Which from an English standpoint pi**es me off hugely as the English part of the UK will still be unrepresented.
If they vote YES then that problem is resolved if not then I think it's going to start rumbling louder and Farage will be chasing that particular bandwagon for all he's worth.

Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

You do realise that around two thirds of the United Kingdom don't get the government they voted for, it's not just Scotland...

Actually in my mind it does. The only ones who have to answer are the owners. The contracts did not dry up at 21:45 on Thursday evening and catch the owners by surprise. They knew far sooner that the order book was empty and told the workers, apparently, nothing until they laid them off. I fail to see how the SG have any questions to answer where a "Private" company is concerned.
The sad truth is that even the great Scottish Labour and Tory leaders had no inclination of the yards lack of orders so that implicates them all . Even though I do not support either Tory/ Labour leader  I would still say they have no case to answer as do the SG.
If it is a Yes fine, if a No then the regions of England will be in a position to claim "Well if the Scottish people can have more powers (PROMISED BY ALL West M Parties) then we want the same. Everyones a winner except the Whitehall elite

The SNP have stated since the seventies that if the country gained independence then the country would have a general election and the people would decide what political persuasion the government was. If that was Labour then so be it, the decisions would be made on what benefits Scotland as any other party would do. Wonder all you want, I know that I will be happy either way as Yes means we stand on our own two feet and No means we get more powers from Westminster , unless the Tory/Labour/Lap dancing Liberals have lied to us about there manifestos
BTW The SNP have ALWAYS campaigned for this referendum and again have always known the parliament after the referendum could be formed by another party. As an aside , as an Aussie , how did it work for you cobber

Well, I have been out of Oz for nigh on 35 years now, so I am out of the loop on the political side down there. But every time I go back to see relatives in Oz, they do complain and grump about the standard of living dropping, even though I see it as far better than the UK's at present, though the good weather helps a lot to see it that way

So standard of living, or 'what you can get for working for a living', seems to be the most major factor that affects the everyday working man across the civilised worlds.

And standard of living will be a most important fact for the Scots, after this referendum, no matter which way it goes.

My Scottish relatives tell me the newspapers were getting nasty with 'No thanks' scare campaigns, with the following headlines....

That English TV shows, like Eastenders and Coronation Street would not be allowed to be shown in Scotland after it became a separate country.

I suppose some voters would make that a priority, over dumping Trident
