Page 2 of Big changes to Amazon prime

Thicko question of the day...was looking into this to use via the TV or Blue Ray which are connected via wifi.
The list on Amazon of machines that are compatable are only:

Amazon Apple LG Microsoft Nintendo Samsung Sony

So my Toshiba 3D TV or my Pioneer 3D Blu-Ray player won'y work then?

I couldn't afford this when it first happened, plus I was a bit busy having boobs cut off etc, so it sort of passed me by.

Now I'm trying to understand the costs involved.

I currently subscribe to Amazon Prime Video (Lovefilm) and pay £9.99 a month for 2 discs at once plus unlimited streaming.

I was sent a letter that said if I sign up for the 30 day free trial, at the end of it, they take £79 from me but credit my Amazon Prime Video account by £5.99 a month. Is that right?

If it is, then it could be worth going for. I'm currently paying £120 a year for half a service. By my reckoning, this would then cost me £127 a year and I'd be getting free delivery plus free Kindle book rentals as well.

Have I understood it right? It's a bit confusing, and I'm not sure.

I'm in exactly the same position as you (apart from the boobs thing):
Have Lovefilm rental/instant for £9.99 a month. Although I don't use the streaming that much (crap internets) but they both come as a package anyway.

It looks like you would get the whole shebang for £127, but it is confusing as you say...

I'm sure I'm only paying £79...

Is that any resolution, including raw? And are they private? Basically could you use that to back up your 140GB (and rising) photies directory? If so that would seriously make me consider it.

Don't know any details because I don't actually have it. It does offer it to me if I sign up to Prime when I click on the link to my Amazon cloud storage but I did notice when reading a random comment that it's actually US only. I think I may have been re-directed to Amazon.com hence the offer.

I've just tried this for the first time and it shows my limit at the moment to be 5GB, and if I want to change my plan, it shows the following options:

20GB - £6 per year
50GB - £16 per year
100GB - £32 per year
200GB - £64 per year
500GB - £160 per year
1000GB - £320 per year

Aye, I still have Lovefilm by disc - trouble is I keep them forever, so not really utilised this properly yet.

I had The Amazing Spiderman for over a year before I decided just to send it back without watching it...
