Page 1 of Hurricane Katrina

Just been trawling round for reports on the hurricane as New Orleans looks to be in for some serious damage with the storm just about to hit.
For anyone in the area or with relatives there I hope you come through it Ok.

My cousins is in New Orleans studying music. But not sure if they`re still on summer hols or not.
Last time they had a hurricane ( a few months back), they were given time off (the College was closed for 2 weeks) to leave and only take their essential personal belongings and get as far away as possible.

One thing I think I got used to living in London is how big damage got cleaned up quickly and nearly every place was either restored or rebuilt after it.

Now living on the Isle of Wight, which has a much more fragile economy, it's much easier to understand how many businesses and community projects are on the edge of survival and any disaster would just end them.
