Couple of freeview queries

dvdloversortof (Competent) posted this on Sunday, 21st August 2005, 19:20

1 - I got told E4+ is free to freeview viewers? Is this true and if so how do I get it?

2 - The ITV screen on freeview is weird, the right hand side doesnt show so for example if you`re watching the footy and someone takes a corner from that side you dont actually see it, it`s only on this channel it happens, how do I adjust that?

Thnx

1: Yes, try doing a search/retune for channels.

2: no idea, but i used to get a couple of channels doing strange things, mainly 16:9 images squashed into a 4:3 box, surrounded by black bars. Never could do anything to sort it.

Only for freeview boxs.... It is not available on FreeSat (Sky`s Freeview Card)

Are you watching Freeview on a regular 4:3 telly?
If so, the problem you mention here could be because you have set your box to 4:3 - in that setting it will crop the sides of the broadcast picture to fit the screen.
To avoid this, and to ensure you see all the picture, set your digibox to `letterbox` settings.

If you`re watching on a widescreen set make sure that the freeview box is set to 16:9 and that the zoom/just/panaroma (or whatever other effect your set may have that stretches and distorts 4:3 pics) is off and the telly is set to 16:9.

`Freeview` is the name used for free Digital Terrestrial Television.

The free broadcasting on cable and sattelite is not Freeview. The free channels available on these platforms differ.
