Has anyone heard of this guy? My mate just sent me a couple of songs by him, sort of Parody songs but one of them is a Star Wars type song to the tune of American Pie, anyone heard it, absolutley class. Sorry i cant link to it or anything but i can mail it if anyones fancies hearing it.

chorus

My My this here Anakin guy
Maybe Vader someday later
For now he`s just a small fry
And he left his home
and kissed his mommy goodbye
singin soon i`m gonna be a Jedi
soon i`m i`m gonna be a Jedi.

Goes all the way through the Phanom Menace but it`s f***in class.

Just wondered if anyone else appreciated it

BTW the song is called The Saga Begins

The guy is a legend, he has parodied "Mambo No 5" with "Bimbo No 5" and it`s Bill Clinton, fantastic.

Other favourites include

"Ugly Girl" (Barbie Girl)
"Like a Surgeon" (Like a virgin)
"Make my boobies one more size" (Hit me baby one more time)
"Girls just wanna have lunch" (Girls jsut wanna have fun)
"What if God smoked cannabis?" (What if God was one of us?)
"Eat it" (Beat it)

I have a four yes four disc compilation Album called " Permanent Record - All in the Box " by Weird Al ( An Mp3 download I hasten to add ) ;-))

As well as the tracks previously mentioned other classics included are :

My Bolognia ( My Sherona)
Another one rides the bus ( Another one bites the dust )
I think I`m a clone now ( I think I`m alone now )
Smells like Nirvana
The Achy Breaky song

He does though have a bit of a thing for Polka music parody which is fine if you like songs like " Polka your eyes out " and " Polkas on 45 "

But quite amusing in small doses.

Not forgetting the his classics "Fat" (Michael Jackson - Bad) and "Yoda" (Lola) He`s basically been around for ages and kept making random guest appearances in the Naked Gun movies for example. Also he did a movie call (I think) UHF (or something like that) which is meant to be another of these cult comedy classics nowadays.

Rich, just sent that over this morning mate.

Brilliant musician and paody-ist!

Be careful though, not all of the songs credited to him are actually his. For listings of all HIS tracks try none other than www.weirdal.com

Have most of his albums: running with scissors is probably one of the best as it has the mentioned skit of American Pie, plus the amazing track "Alberqueque" - a full twelve minutes of utter nonsense.

Another track to try and find is "Amish Paradise", a brilliant skit on Coolio`s "Gangster`s Paradise" - and the only song where the original author has allegedly taken offence at the `Weir Al Treatment`!
